Aims to produce machines that can produce a wide variety of useful goods - including copies of themselves! This is the place to post anything about the project, related news, discussion between users, help requests (in the sticky thread), and so on. About RepRap: The name is short for 'self- Replicating Rapid prototyper, and for now that means 3D printing! In the longer term, the project will give physical goods the economic properties of Free software - shareable and improvable by anyone with minimal cost or external control.
Most 3D printers are not RepRaps any more - or yet! A RepRap must be able to produce more than half it's own parts, typically the mechanical structure.
Subreddit rules:. Stay relevant to the RepRap project or a RepRap machine. If you have a question or need help, use the sticky threads. This rule should be unnecessary! Useful Links:.,., Resources (Please modmail with any suggestions). Hm, on the download page it says free for students, hobbyists, enthusiasts, and start-ups. So that pretty much covers everyone except large for-profit business.
Give it a try! As for the cloud, kind of annoying. I haven't looked into switching it off though, as I've found the auto version tracking (and ability to easily go back) very useful, as well as being able to work on the same project at home (mac) and at work (pc) without worrying about saving files or anything, so the pros outweigh the cons, in my case at least.
To accomplish the goal for better 3D model manipulation, Autodesk did away with the old saved history method and introduced a new plug-in that will automatically be installed, Autodesk Inventor Fusion. This plug-in allows users to directly open and edit 3D models without having to save and export their work manually. When the user is finished editing the plug-in automatically opens the updated version back in AutoCAD. Autodesk also replaced the older array feature with new associated arrays features. IF IT IS FREE, HOW DO I DOWNLOAD IT? IT WAS AVAILABLE WITH OUR EARLIER PRODUCTS, NOW WE HAVE UPGRADE (UNDER SUBSCRIPTION) WE HAVE LOST 6 LICENCES. WE DO NOT USE THE CLOUD AS OUR CLIENTS DO NOT ALLOW IT, SO 360 IS NOT THE ANSWER, PLUS THERE IS A MONTHY CHARGE.

Phil.E: I still have the installation disks for 2012, but that does not help, as Fusion 2012 is not stand-alone and requires a compatible version of AutoCAD to be installed (ie AutoCAD 2012). As stated in my original query, due to being on subscription, we are expected to upgrade our software to suit ADSK support. We are now running AutoCAD 2014 and 2015, none of which have Fusion (I am discounting Fusion 360 as it is not acceptable to us or any of our clients).

Fusion 2013 R1, I am led to believe, is a stand-alone version of Fusion which is compatible with AutoCAD 2014, but trying to find a copy is like searching for the Holy Grail. I can understand ADSK not supporting an older version, but to completely remove it from any download site is extremely poor and not in their users interest. Do AutoDESK not have back-ups of there intsallation software so that they could at least offer it on request? I am prepared to sign a disclaimer, stating that ADSK do not support the product and it is used purely at my own risk.
As it stands at the moment, I am now looking for alternatives, that is not restricted to ADSK.
Are you an Inventor Fusion technology preview user on Windows? If so, get the update.
If not, the tech preview is free, so you can start right now on Windows or the Mac. The Autodesk Inventor Fusion technology preview is available on both the Windows and Macintosh platforms. When the Macintosh version was recently posted, the Windows users were 'green with envy' (see above) because the Windows version was the 2012 one, and the Macintosh version was 2013-based. I am happy to announce that the team provided me with an update for the Windows version that I posted to the site. This update provides the 2013-based compatibility and functionality as well as extends the technology preview to April 1, 2013. Please experiment with the technology preview and let us know your thoughts at or the. Like the previous 2012-based tech preview, the 2013-based tech preview for Windows is available in 14 languages.
Despite being multilingual, the user is not able to select a desired language as part of the install process. To select another requires that a user change it upon first running the tech preview. After installing the technology preview, non-English users need to change the language: Invoke Fusion, go to the Help menu, select 'Select Locale,' and set the appropriate locale/language. Once users set the language, they need to close the application and restart. Users only need to do this once per installation. After the locale/language is set, Fusion will always display text in the specified locale/language. Parity is alive in the lab.

Autodesk has made a free trial of their new 3D modeling product. Designed to permit free manipulation of models designed in either Inventor or AutoCAD and then ‘round-trip’ the model back to its source application with the changes made. The downloaded application will time out in June 2011, but it is free and comes in two download choices.
